In 2026, the volume of courier deliveries to business centers has grown 10-fold compared to 2020. A lobby can no longer be just a waiting hall; it has transformed into a high-tech logistical hub. At Reception Space, we design entrance groups where the flows of people and robot couriers are separated and synchronized. We examine how hidden automated sorting systems and drone landing pads are becoming part of a building's architectural code.
Hidden Arteries: The Lobby as a Sorting Center
The main task of a modern lobby is to remove visual clutter from parcels and couriers. We implement 'reception windows' in the building's facade, behind which robotic conveyors are hidden. A parcel accepted by a robot from the outside is automatically sorted and moved to a staff member's personal smart locker inside the lobby. This frees the reception from piles of boxes and creates a sense of perfect order. The lobby remains a clean art space while invisible mechanics perform all the heavy work.
Droneports: An Aerial Haven for Luxury
Integration into canopies and roofing
For 2026 flagship properties, we're designing integrated drone landing pads directly into entrance canopies. After a drone lands, a special lift lowers the cargo into the lobby's internal distribution system. This ensures ultra-speedy delivery of important documents or lunch directly to the guest or employee. The use of sound-absorbing materials in the droneport's construction allows for a virtually silent process, preserving the peace of the waiting zone.
