In the vast terminals and malls of the future, signs are no longer necessary. Scent-scaping is the art of creating aromatic routes. Different lobby zones have unique scents that help guests intuitively find a cafe, elevator, or rest area without looking at a map.
Aromatic Map
We split the space into olfactory layers. The entrance area smells of ozone and cool mint (signaling 'freshness and start'). The path to the elevators is marked by a warm white tea aroma, while the waiting area invites relaxation with notes of cedar and fresh-cut grass. This creates a cohesive narrative structure of the space that the guest 'reads' on the go.
Seasonal Scene Changes
Scent Seasons
An intelligent scent-scaping management system changes the intensity and composition of scents based on weather and time of day. On a rainy day, the scent of a coniferous forest and spices appears in the lobby, creating coziness. We integrate diffusers into lighting elements and ventilation systems, making them completely invisible.
