Construction is always waste. Growing is cleanliness. We use fungal root systems (mycelium) as natural glue. Mixing spores with sawdust in a mold, we 'grow' a strong chair or reception block in 5 days. The material ends up light, fire-resistant, and velvety to the touch like suede. This is 'living' design that breathes.
Suede Texture
Mycelium has unique tactility. It's not cold plastic or rough wood. It's nature's 'soft touch.' The material's outer crust (densified mycelium) resembles nubuck. We don't paint such products, leaving natural shades of baked milk and terracotta. This creates an atmosphere of warmth and biological safety in the lobby.
Sound and Fire
Fungal Functionality
Mycelium's porous structure is an ideal sound absorber. A wall of 'mushroom bricks' behind the reception kills echo better than professional acoustic foam. Moreover, in a fire, mycelium doesn't burn but chars, protecting the structure. It's your office's bio-shield.
