Cryonics is the industry of hope. The lobby here must convince the client that the company will exist for centuries. We explore the 'Sublime Cold' aesthetic: using matte glass symbolizing ice, liquid nitrogen as a show element, and absolute silence. The reception desk is an altar of science where immortality search contracts are signed. The space balances between medical sterility and temple solemnity.
Ice and Light
We use materials with a 'frost effect.' Satin acrylic and sandblasted glass. Lighting is tuned to 6500K (cold white) with a slight cyan tint. This creates a cool sensation even at +22°C. The reception looks like a block of ice glowing from within. It is a metaphor for preservation, stopping time.
Capsule Aesthetics
Shape of Future
Dewar (cryo-capsule) models are often displayed in the lobby. Furniture repeats their cylindrical forms. No sharp angles, only an infinite arc. We use white Corian, allowing for seamless monoliths. The floor is self-leveling, glossy, creating the effect of walking on water or a mirror. This is a place outside of time.
